The Lost Lands brings together the best music talent, as well as a captivating arts program, activities, comedy & performance.

 

At The Lost Lands we believe that music, the arts, and the environment are extremely important; and to foster a love of these things through shared experiences for future generations is an important and exciting prospect. It’s all about having a great time together and immersing yourself in music, the arts and nature – getting lost in the moment, for a whole weekend.

INITIATIVES

 

Sustainability at The Lost Lands 2018

 

Below are just some of the sustainability initiatives that we will have in place at TLL2018.

 

Removal of single-use plastic items from main event site:  

o  No plastic bags

o  No PET or fossil fuel-based single-use plastic water bottles (backstage or sold by food/drink vendors on site)

o  No plastic straws and plastic cutlery

 

Free water refill and wash stations

o  Increased water points including free refill water stations to be provided back stage, on the main site and campgrounds.

o Wash stations (with biodegradable soap) to be located on the main site and campground for washing reusable bottles, cups and utensils,

 

Recycling Measures

o Food and drink vendors to serve food/drinks in compostable packaging.

o Reusable water bottles and cups will be available for purchase also on site.

o Reusable signage to be used throughout the main event and campground.

o Recycled stationary and paper to be used for office materials and onsite programs.

o Recyclable materials to be used for accreditation items including wrist bands.

o Spanish artist Emiliano Matesanz returns to The Lost Lands Arts & Wonder program showcasing more magical installations for families made from pre-loved recycled materials.

 

Waste management: 

o  Clearly marked waste stations for recycling bottles, compostable packaging, food scraps will be located on the main event site and campgrounds.

 

o  100% biodegradable waste bags that are certified 100% compostable will be supplied to campers. Bag up your waste using the waste bags provided and bring them to a recycling station.

 

o  Waste warriors: Our friendly team of volunteers will be stationed around the festival campground to assist you in keeping Werribee park clean.

 

o In our efforts to sort waste and reduce landfill we will again work with social enterprise Diversitat, who assist refugees who have recently settled in Australia.
