WHEN WE WERE LITTLE...

A window into the world of your favourite TLL2018 musicians when they were kids!

Davey Lane (You Am I)The first concert I went to was
Paul McCartney at the MCG in 1993.

My first musical instrument was
Trombone. But I quickly realised I couldn't really write 'songs' on a trombone. Hearing the Beatles and the Who set me on the six stringed path to the transient life of rock 'n roll I proudly live today.

My favourite childhood holiday was
New Zealand, my grandparents lived there so it was like a second home for me. I liked fishing with my Grandad and eating mussels.

My favourite song was
Mr Blue Sky by ELO is one that sticks to this day.

As a child, I loved dressing up as
A guitar player in a rock 'n roll band.

Kate Miller-HeidkeThe first concert I went to was
My cousin Annie Lee is also Mourne Kransky of the Kransky Sisters. She used to do the most hilarious, bizarre and brilliant concerts in our lounge room. I was in awe of her as a kid (and still am!).

My first musical instrument was
The violin. I never got good at it.

My favourite children's book was
Everything by Roald Dahl, especially The Witches.

My favourite song was
Tears on my Pillow by Kylie Minogue.

My earliest childhood memory is
Tropical afternoon storms on our tin roof.
